To sell Dexter beef approved by the Dexter Society in the UK you need one of these. This is ours, it gives our name and our breeder number. Anyone can go to the Society and put in the eartag of any beast and see it’s whole life story. Now more than ever, provenance of our food is likely among the top 3 criteria for most people, quality and price being the other two. This mark guarantees that we sell only beef from pedigree Dexter cattle. Ones that we pay to register with the Society at birth. We register their parents too, most of which are DNA profiled to ensure pure pedigree Dexter breeding. No animals crossed with other breeds, no shortcuts. No question on provenance, no question on quality, and on price? Well we do what can. About 20% more expensive like for like than supermarket beef and at least 1000% more quality and flavour.
