I’ve no issue with people deciding to be vegans for a month or for their whole life.

I’ve no issue with people deciding to be vegans for a month or for their whole life. After all it’s their lives and their choice. In fact my best friend is a vegan 😉.

Sometimes people decide to do this for health reasons, sometimes for environmental and sometimes because of disliking eating animal flesh. All are valid reasons given the information that is out there.

A counter argument that isn’t heard as much that I believe in, is that regenerative, ethical 100% grass-fed animals with higher welfare is more beneficial for the planet than say importing avocados, asparagus, or growing almonds. Eating better meat, from farms practising regenerative agriculture, will usually have high welfare standards and an ethical slaughter process coupled with short or direct supply chains is at least as ethical environmentally as going vegan.

It also gives direct money into the local economy that gets spent by real people on actual things rather than siphoned off to shareholders and locked away, which is also cool.

Particularly the case in January where most vegetable protein and fat needs importing.

Happy New Year in 2021 whatever type of ‘vore you are. 🥂🥩🌱🐟.
